Everything was fine last night before I went to bed but today, I try to do anything and it comes up with a page saying that OpenDNS is blocking the site.

I had to turn off OpenDNS to even get here to ask this question.

When I googled it, I came up with a ton of pages asking why this is happening but either they don’t answer the question or say to go to parts of the OpenDNS Website that don’t exist or read articles that have been moved/deleted.

There’s a TON of answered questions about how wonderful it is for parents to be able to block Inappropriate Websites but I’m an adult and I’m the only one on this computer so how did everything get set up to be blocked? I would never turn on Filtering on my own system.

How do I fix this?
I’m not using it for the Content Blocking, I’m using it for the DNS Security. Seriously fu*ktards, if you aren’t going to answer the question, why the hell are here? Sorry for the attitude but when half the answers on this site are just bullshit, it gets frustrating.

► Advantages of services of third party DNS resolution services like OpenDNS?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhhXAl0VkbF.H06XhanRKLwjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20081115161938AAES9LV

Can someone please explain to me the advantages of using third party DNS resolution services as opposed to using one’s own ISP’s? Also, OpenDNS seems like the gold standard out there, but is there a third party DNS resolution rating/review site? Thanks to those who answer!

Answer: OpenDNS dominates, it’s more secure (kept up to date, your ISP probably isn’t) and it’s faster, as it’s dedicated to DNS (your ISP probably just runs theirs without too much thought.)
